Media evaluation - What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product (question 6)

During the preproduction when we were formulating ideas for our film we used a variety of technologies. We used Microsoft word and powerpoint to effectively document our ideas as both applications are accessible and easy to navigate. To aid our research we used websites such as: prezi, IMDB, YouTube, Wikipedia and ArtofTheTitle to research the specific genres and films we took inspiration from for our film.
Blogger was used to document our findings as it is a publicly accessible place to store and present information.
During production we used a panasonic hcv 270 and a tripod, which we often used to avoid the camera shaking which would interrupt the verisimilitude of our film. We were pleased our uses of these two technologies as we were satisfied with the outcome of our footage. However, we should have used less zoom in some shots to minimise the blur and I feel that we could have used more different types of shots, such as a bird’s eye view shot and a tracking shot, but we did not have the resources or time to do so.
During post production we edited our footage on the editing software premiere pro CC, which we have had success with so far learning how to cut and add effects to a series of footage. During my use of premiere pro CC I also learnt how to create opening credits and successfully integrate music into a film. I thought that premiere pro CC had numerous qualities such as it is quick and has an enormous amount of features. However, it can be daunting it using it the first time as it is complex, I would have liked to have removed numerous things off of it. During post production I used blogger, prezi and microsoft powerpoint to illustrate my evaluation, the evaluation has been particularly helpful as it has allowed me to realise how to improve and what to focus on the next time I construct a media product.
