Lolita(1997) has only just been appreciated fully within the 21st century. Due to how many critics found it contovershal upon how an middle aged man could fall in 'love' with a 14 year old girl. However the film is not about copilation which many critics has stated as its about realtionships and the consequences of imprudent actions. Lolita was additionally written in 1955 by Vladimir Nabokov therefore the main themes of the film will be differ from the norms and values of this present society.Lolita gave us many character ideas which we used within sister judith and father abraham. Mr Humbert Humbert illistrated many prominant characteristics that are within Father Abraham as we wanted to capture the emotional stability of Mr Humbert Humbert within how father Abraham appears to be. As for Sister Judith we wanted to take Lolita's vunrability and almost the idea that she falls in a 'phase' of love to make other joyful however then near to the end of lolita you see a change in dominance as Lolita has the dominance over Mr humbert humbert as she denies him her love. This image of how a women has dominance over a male drastically subverts the stereotypical image of how women are seen as passive within films.

American psyho is featured around a male 'Patrick Bateman' who is a wealthy investment banker in Manhattan. Where he is obsessed with his physical appearance and his numerous women and killing episodes. Lionsgate acquired worldwide distribution in 1997 and on the 21st of january 2000 the film was debuted at the sundancefilm festival. As a result of this the film was then released theatrically on the 14th of April 2000. Even though the film was generally regarded as 'contovershal many critics praised the screenplay and christian Bales performance of Bateman and was a financial success. As even though the budget was just 7million dollars, American Psycho made 34.3 million dollars at the box office.
American Psycho gave our film 'purity' many character ideas especially for Father Ambraham. We wanted to take the idea of how Bateman uses his looks and persona to attract women due to his wealth and social status even though he has no emotional connection towards them. We combined both Mr Humbert Humbert emotional side with Batemans seductive and physical appeal over women as a guideline for the creation of Father Abrahams character.
